Amid an increase in more infectious Covid variants, Apple is recommending its physical Apple Store staff to resume wearing masks.
As the more transmissible Delta variant continues to spread, Apple is urging its retail workers to start wearing masks whether or not they are fully vaccinated. Bloomberg reported in a story update Tuesday. Retail workers must also comply with all regional health regulations, including mask warrants.

Apple CEO Tim Cook told staff in June that they should expect to return to work in person a few days a week by September. The company recently reverted to those plans until October at the earliest.
The company is reportedly working on a new hybrid working model for retail employees, dubbed “Retail Flex”. The new model would see physical staff working a few weeks in Apple Stores and other weeks at home performing customer service and online sales tasks.
In the United States, hospitalizations and deaths are now increasing, especially among the unvaccinated. The more infectious Delta variant now accounts for 83% of new Covid cases in the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Tuesday.
